Reuf Sipović received his first guitar when he was five years old. Even as a child he was interested in different musical styles. Inspired by rock, blues, classical, flamenco and bosnian traditional music, he taught himself to play and developed his own individual style. His guitar was his permanent companion.
Due to the war in his own country, he emmigrated to Germany when he was seventeen. There he perfected his guitar technique and played in various studio productions and live concerts. In the following years he composed several pieces, established the label Lava Sound Productions in 2005 and released his first single, “River Lim,” in 2006, which received high praise in professional circles.
Over a period of several years he worked on his first album, “Survival”. He composed, arranged and mixed all the pieces himself, as well as played all the instruments. Through his second home in Berlin and his stunning first CD he was able to meet gifted musicians such as Hans Hartmann (Chapmanstick), Adam Weisman (Percussion), Ulrich Mais (Cello),…
With these musicians he arranged a live concert of “Survival” in 2011 in Tempodrom in Berlin. During this collaborative project, new pieces based on the traditional style of old bosnian songs were completed (which formed the second half of the concert) and later released under the title “Sevdah Reloaded”.
